According to Axios, the F.B.I. counted eight hundred ninety-three million dollars lost to A.I. scams in one year. Much of it was people saving a kid who was never in danger.
That familiar number on your screen? It's fake too. So the voice isn't proof anymore. It's just audio. And audio is the cheapest thing in the world to fake.
